Why Choose a Campingaz Bottle?
Campingaz is a family-founded business specialising in camping equipment. As well as Campingaz bottles, they also manufacture stoves and other easy to use camping equipment that makes outdoor living a lot easier.
As a family run business, Campingaz is dedicated to providing resources that allow families to enjoy quality time outdoors. You can easily power any cooking, lighting, or heating appliance with a Campingaz bottle. The Campingaz bottle is easy to connect and is compatible with many devices such as grills and stoves, which is ideal for cooking whilst camping.
What Gas is Used in a Campingaz Canister?
Propane and butane, also known as Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), are the two most widely used gases for outdoor activities such as camping or BBQs. Campingaz uses butane, signified by the blue exterior of the Campingaz bottle. Since Campingaz is used to fuel gas camping stoves, it is vital the gas can still function in lower temperatures. For domestic BBQs, we recommend using one of our BBQ gas bottles which use propane gas.
Butane has several advantages over propane for camping applications:
Easy to Store – As butane has a lower boiling point than propane, it requires less pressure to convert to a liquidised state. Due to the lower pressure, butane gas can be stored in a thinner aluminium Campingaz bottle. These Campingaz bottles are lightweight for easy transportation, making them ideal for a camping trip. It has been calculated that a butane canister is 40% lighter than propane for holding the same volume of gas.
Energy Efficient – Compared to propane, butane is more energy efficient as around 12% more energy is exerted by butane when the same volume of each gas is used. This means less butane fuel is required to power a camping stove, making it the ideal choice for a camping trip since a smaller container can be used. When camping, it’s best to pack as light as possible, and so by using Campingaz butane gas bottles, you can save space whilst still having a sufficient amount of gas for your trip.
